Mic Placement Meeting

I also met with Caroline (SM), Jessica (Cost. Des.), and Dean on the 4th to discuss mic placement in this problematic show. The meeting was very productive. Some decisions are waiting for Aubrey's approval before they are set in stone. Between the four of us we were able to address all considerations for the specific instances where mic placement is difficult. Another meeting with Costumes will be scheduled after break.

Vocal Array

Monday, Dec. 4 we tested several different combinations for a vocal array in PCT. With the cooporation of several depts. and individuals, we managed to try 4 different arrays in the course of the morning and early afternoon.

While there is no perfect solution, I decided to go with a two-box AE-5 array with a 30 degree splay. This array left a little bit of signal loss right in the middle toward the rear of house, but it met all the other goals we had for a vocal array.

Hello to the thesis committee members, peers, and friends who will be visiting this site in the months to come.

The purpose of this site is to document my design process for The Full Monty, which will be my thesis sound design for my M.F.A. at University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music.

My hope is that this blog will help me assess, digest, and refine my design in process, as well as allow you to follow me through the production. Thank you for taking part in this experiment.
